The challenge

Al-Futtaim runs more than 200 businesses across automotive, retail, real estate and financial services. The customer sees one group. The customer’s experience was 200 different apps, sites and logins. Cross-sell was theoretical, retention was slipping, and no single team could see the customer end-to-end.

The solution

We joined the Blue programme as advisors on both the product and the technical shape of the app. Our brief: help the group get to a single customer surface without freezing the businesses that already work.

Proof of work

What the customer actually experiences.

Reference imagery drawn against the same brand system the programme ships against — not a client screenshot, but a faithful reading of the surface.

The direction we took

Where we pointed the work.

A single diagram, drawn from the programme, showing how the strategy actually lines up — where it converges, where it stays plural.

How we shaped the work.

Step 01
Walking the journeys first
Before any architecture, we walked the customer journeys across the group — the ones that broke, the ones that repeated, the ones customers gave up on. That map is what we sized the programme against.
Step 02
One blueprint, many businesses
We drew a single experience blueprint and a technical architecture that could serve automotive, retail, real estate and financial services without asking any of them to stop moving.
Step 03
Defining the product
We wrote the product specification for the core surface — onboarding, cross-brand loyalty, payments, service — in enough detail that engineering could build against it and business owners could sign off with confidence.
Step 04
An architecture the group could actually run
The integration framework had to accept legacy systems as-is. We designed APIs and event flows that let older platforms participate without being rebuilt.
Step 05
A roadmap with real milestones
The plan was phased so that value showed up early — a working loyalty programme before the full app, a working app before the full ecosystem — with clear metrics at each stage.
Outcomes

What reached production.

Unified
One loyalty programme that rewards customers across every brand
Cross-sell
The businesses now show up to customers as one group
Foundation
A data spine ready for the next set of services
AI-native, today

From unified to anticipatory.

A superapp that unifies experience is a strong platform. One that anticipates need is a defensible one. Applied today, contextual recommendations, agent-assisted service and predictive loyalty would each sit inside the same review discipline the group already uses.
